Sunday (3-12-17)

  • 10 mile long run

The last time I ran 10 miles was 1-26-15. It’s a run I’ll never forget. My legs were hurting from CECS and I had to stop several times because of the pain. The air was so dry that I got a nosebleed mid run.

This run was pain-free and I had fun covering the miles all over town. One week out from race day. πŸ˜€Β

Monday (3-13-17)

  • 5 mile run
  • yoga core + push ups

Tuesday (3-14-17)

  • 5 mile run
  • 2 mile walk

Wednesday (3-15-17)

  • backpacked 6.82 miles

Day 1 Garmin Stats

My sister and I headed up to Arkansas and we backpacked the Butterfield Hiking Trail for a total of 15.6 miles. I weighed my full pack beforehand and it clocked in at 33 pounds. Like a boss! We backpacked this trail in October 2015 and decided to go back this spring break. It was beautiful! It had rained recently and the river was full and a lovely blue color. It was chilly and got pretty cold at night, but we found a great campsite and made a campfire and roasted vegan marshmallows. I had a really great time and was not actually very sore after we were finished; must be the squats, stair climbing, biking, and running that strengthened my quads. Even the poppet said that the climbs were not has hard as they were the first time we backpacked the trail, but she was pretty sore and hurting the second day.

Thursday (3-16-17)

  • backpacked 8.78 miles

Day 2 Garmin Stats

Friday (3-17-17)

  • 4.23 mile walk
  • 40 minutes of yoga

Saturday (3-18-17)

  • 6 mile run
  • strength training (dumbbells)
  • + lots of walking (20,000 step day)

I went to pickup my race packet downtown and then headed over to the Dallas Arboretum. Saw lots of pretty tulips and azaleas and got lots of steps in. πŸ™‚

Total running miles: 26.05

All miles: 52.66
